Seconds, minutes, and even hours had passed, and the light in the operating theatre still hadn’t gone off. Tanya held on to Kathryn as she patted her hair.
“It’s going to be fine, the both of them will be fine.” She told her as she handed her a glass of water. “Here, have this, you haven’t eaten all day.” She told her, but she shook her head.
“No mum. I don’t want to have it. Kathy and Daniel haven’t eaten all day too. Mum, my daughter is in there, and I don’t know how everything is going. Until I know they’re alright, I won’t be able to rest easy.” She said as tears streamed down her cheeks, and Tanya smiled as she pulled her to herself.
“I’m telling you, everything is going to be fine, and trust me, Kathryn. Your life is going to get better from now on. I promise you.” She said, and Kathryn embraced her tightly.
