“Carter,” she lets out, almost like a sigh of relief. “Claire is getting married.”

The announcement stings Carter’s ears for a bit, hence, he takes a moment to digest her words before rising to a sitting position with his eyes transfixed on her.  “What do you mean?”

“Exactly what I said,” Lara responds as-a-matter-of-factly.

“To whom?” His puzzled glare becomes even more pronounced.

“I would also like the answers to those questions as well,” Lara says with a soft voice, an attempt to coax him into letting her do her bidding. “That’s why I need to go back there.”
