Chapter 186. Mother
A sword hangs from the woman’s waist, and her piercing blue eyes and fair skin give her the appearance of a beautiful goddess of war.
As she approaches, Lara observes her closely, her heart racing.
"My little angel," the woman begins with a teary smile, and a surge of emotion sweeps through Lara.
"Mother?" She hears herself call, her voice barely a whisper, just before she jolts awake, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
Sitting in the quiet stillness of her room, Lara stares at the wall as her mind buzzes with questions. Her thoughts are consumed by the enigmatic dream she just had.
She wanders far away in thought. Where was that mysterious forest, and why were its two sides complete opposites of each other? And most puzzling of all, why were both figures—the dark hooded figure and the beautiful lady—simultaneously inviting her in?
