Chapter 252. Be Still
Don is the first to snap out of the haze hanging over the table. He reaches for the wine bottle, pours himself another glass, and takes a long sip, his eyes darting to Grady, who had broken the uneasy silence. “I believe we are having a good night. What are we missing, Grady?”
Grady shifts uncomfortably in his chair, rubbing his sweaty palm on his knees before leaning forward, his voice heavy. “I am talking about the late boss’s daughter, sir.”
Don arches a brow, his confusion evident. “Yes? What about her?”
Brick, an Alpha sitting to the right of Don, nods slowly. His aura is calm and confident, his dark, shiny suit completing his classy look. “I understand his apprehension. She has been quiet for too long. Haven’t heard a peep from her in a while. Alas, maybe she is busy trying to make sure the mission goes off without a hitch. I doubt there's any need for concern.”
“I would’ve believed that,” Axel, another blonde-haired alpha snaps, his voice dripping
