The place was a mess, filled with smoke so dense it was as if the building were on fire.

The strong smell of smoke mingled with other indescribable odors, making it overwhelmingly unpleasant.

Although Liam smoked on occasion, even he found it hard to bear.

"Are you here to play mahjong? You’ll have to wait a bit—there are no open tables right now."

A man walked over and, after giving Liam and his group a quick look, smiled and said.

Liam shook his head. "I’m not here to play. I’m looking for Murphy."

Since it wasn’t yet clear whether Aurora’s disappearance had anything to do with Murphy, Liam wasn’t in the mood to waste time. He got straight to the point.

"You’re looking for Boss? Are you here to borrow money?"

The man gave Liam another scrutinizing look, as if trying to figure out his intentions.

"In a manner of speaking."

Liam smiled, giving a deliberately vague response.
