Chapter 48. You Savage Wolf
My wolf’s snort rolled through me as I nudged her lightly with my head, shifting so that she lost her balance. “Hey!” she squealed. Her arms went wide as she tumbled to the side—but I was already in motion, twisting to catch her with my belly. She sprawled across me in a tangle of limbs, and I felt the weight of her tiny frame settle against my fur, her breath warm against my throat.
She blinked up at me, eyes wide, lips parted in surprise. The sight of her there made me laugh deep in my chest, a rumble that vibrated through her rattling bones. She tugged herself upright, braced on her elbows, and sat back on my broad belly so that she faced me. With her hands planted firmly on her small hips, she said, half-laughing, half-threat, “You big beast. I’m on to you now.”
I snorted, amused. She pushed against my chest, attempting to rise, but I waited until she was almost there, then gave a gentle but firm tug on her shirt, pulling her sliding back across my ribs. She squealed
