Leiah POV

“Leiah,” Gabbie hissed. “This isn’t like you!”

I sniffled. Tears threatened to fall.

“I’m sorry,” I sobbed.

Bubbles of emotions rose inside me.

“For what?” Gabbie asked, bewildered. “Leiah, did something happen to you? You can tell me anything.”

She placed her hand on my back.

“Yes, something happened. I was injured, and my wolf suffered more than me. I lost my rank.”

Gabbie remained quiet for a while.

“How much rank did you lose?”

“I’m an omega.”

 She made a small sound, which I assumed was a gasp.

“Are you sure?”
