Chapter 72

Gabbie POV

I ran to McGregor castle. I ran to the library and tucked myself between the shelves. I curled into a ball and buried my head between my knees. Who was my Mom? I should have stayed and asked but there were more lies. This one was bad enough what more did he have to tell me?

I stayed in the library until the sun lowered and the sky turned pinkish orange. My eyes drooped and stung from the tears. I rested my head on the wall and passed out only to wake from a bang that echoed.

I jumped and quickly adjusted to the darkness. The sun had gone and the stars were out.

“I hope I’m not locked in.”

The lights in the library were off. With everyone busy with battle season no one was studying. Blair must be enjoying her new freedom. A part of me wished for it but I knew I needed to be here for Kade.

The rest of the school castle was dark. Another loud bang and I jumped.

“Fuck!”
