Kelly POV

The clock on my phone glowed a glaring 11:15 PM as I staggered out of the office, mentally drained and physically exhausted. The chaos of the day had left me in a fog, and all I could think about was collapsing into the comfort of my bed. Olivia had already messaged me earlier, confirming she’d pick up Harper and bring her back in the morning, so I didn’t have to worry about being a mother tonight.

I unlocked my apartment door and stumbled in, the weight of the world on my shoulders. I barely even kicked off my heels before I let my body fall onto the king-sized bed with a thud. I lay there, staring at the ceiling. My mind kept replaying Anderson’s words:

‘It’s not over, Kelly. I will come back for you.’
