Alpha Jaxon’s POV

Cane moved in a speed of a former trained warrior, holding my mate in a chokehold. Rage I had never known before ignited under my skin, threatening to explode into a tsunami of violence. The first thing I registered was blood on her swollen face, then her bare upper body and the chains that tied her to the metallic chair.

“I’m going to kill you.”

“There, there, Alpha, one more step and I snap her neck.” My wolf let out a loud growl, claws extending in that instant. Scarlett’s eyes were squeezed tightly, her mouth gaping as she attempted to breath.

“Let her go.” I gritted my teeth, my eyes staring at my mate. I could feel the air in the room begin to heat up, just as the barrier between us was dropped down.

Cane laughed maniacally shaking his head. “Do you think I wasn’t prepared for this?” he mocked, raising his head.

“You are a fool for coming here alone. My men are out there and with a snap of my fingers you will be surrounded.
