9 months later.
Alpha Jaxon stomped into the delivery room, eyes frantically searching for his mate. His eyes fell on his mate, writhing on the bed, grunting in pain as Astra soothed her. The doctors and two traditional healers stilled, their wolves recognizing their alpha.
“You shouldn’t be here, Alpha,” one of the doctors explained, swallowing thickly when the alpha growled.
“My love,” he called his mate, pushing the doctor out of the way.
“J-Jax,” Scarlett moaned, a scream of agony passing through her parted mouth when another contraction hit.
“Babe I’m so sorry I wasn’t here sooner.” He knelt beside her on the bed, taking her hand into his. Jaxon had been at his other pack, Alpha Silas’s former pack. After killing Silas, he had automatically become the alpha. Because of so much work however, he had appointed Jasper to lead the pack. His was to just go check on things once in a while.
