Cerelia’s POV
Xandrios broke the dusty cabinet open, and we moved away from the cloud of debris flying about. “We have to hurry. This place won’t be safe for you after dark. We still don’t know who lives here.”
I nodded, and we sorted through the old documents my dad had preserved over the years. They were the house and pack agreement, bank documents, and the like. Xandrios retrieved the important ones. “Your dad’s savings are there for you. We will need these bank documents.”
I nodded in a state of daze, still wondering why these were kept hidden away from me. I didn’t even want to know how much money my dad left for me. As for the property papers, I wasn’t interested in living here all by myself. Therefore, they were of no use to me.
“Is that all, Xandrios? There’s a secret drawer underneath. Have you checked it?”
