Scarlett’s POV
“Scarlett, talking about my things has never been something I enjoy. I think you know me well enough to understand that, and I do care about you and the whole family, but I also want you to understand me and how I’ve been feeling. I don’t think it’s complicated to give me my space for a while.”
“Do you want me to leave you alone for a few hours?”
William grimaces and bites his lower lip. It seems like he doesn’t even know what he wants; he’s confused. He just arrived, and the things that have been happening are confusing his mind. I know him, I know his head is pounding, and he probably wishes he hadn’t come back at this moment. But his brother is not a burden. He should recognize that Francis has come a long way, making efforts to have a life free from prejudices and things that haunt him.
