Denise’s POV
It had been three weeks. Three whole weeks that Fabian had come to the bookstore and the magic was all disappearing. I didn’t expect him to become obsessed with me on the spot, especially since he wasn’t even a wolf. But damn. It hurt to think that he did not feel even the slightest pull toward me. Or was it that he just didn’t see the point in pursuing a weird connection he had had with a stranger? Maybe I was giving myself a little too much hope, but I was hoping that was what was going through his mind.
Ingrid, with her ever boisterous nature, came and took me out of my reverie. She was saying something, then she stopped when she saw the look on my face. I guessed I looked as down as I felt. “Still thinking about him, huh?” she asked with a sympathetic look on her face.
