Klainer looked at Afhany the way Moses didn't like. Then he stood up and said it was time to leave. Klainer stood up too and, waiting until everyone had risen, escorted them out of the cave.

"I want you to know that Kreyer will come to you at the palace to meet his grandson, because as soon as you leave here, he will feel your power."

"Do you think he'll try to steal my son?" Afhany asked fearfully.

"He would if he could. But he's too weak for that and he'll already be spending a lot of energy hiding from my reapers who guard the palace. I think he wants to raise this child, but since he knows it's impossible, he'll try to make peace with you, so that you'll accept him and welcome him as Maureen's grandfather."
