Chapter 272. No Refuge

Liã could also see it happening from his palace. The singates were called away from their patrols to take shelter in the palace. She didn't know what it meant. Was it a victory for Moses, or a mark of the beginning of the war? She feared that her son would stop his visits. She turned to the throne room and there it was crowded with singates.

Liã walked quietly past them and sat down on the throne. She heard Eliza's voice calling her. She had the urge to go immediately, but was prevented. She tapped her fingers nervously on the armrest of the throne. It was driving her crazy. She was about to get off the throne and go outside the palace to find out what effect all that energy would have on her, when she heard a voice in her mind.

"Go now and find out what Eliza wants from you. It could be some information that will help us win this war."

Liã smiled. The creature's voice was angry. Nothing he had planned had turned out as he had hoped.
