Chapter 363. Selfishness
Liã arrived at Dom João's castle and, for the first time, felt cold. There was no one around. Not even the darkness that Elgin had placed there to spy on her was present. She went into the living room and sadly saw that only Don John and Serena were there.
Her friend Eliza and Mentor were supposed to be in Moses' palace, but she needed to see them, so she sat in an armchair, without saying a word to Eliza's parents, and concentrated on finding a connection with Mentor.
She waited for almost half an hour before he appeared with Eliza and Thomas.
Lia was afraid when she saw her son. He was very dejected and she thought they must be blaming her, and just looking at them made her heart leap in her chest. It was as if she was no longer alone. Contrary to everything she had imagined, the three of them came up to her and hugged her. They cried together.
When they pulled away, Thomas took Liã's face in both hands and looked at her longingly.
