Chapter 80. Murder
Demy married Simas and they lived in the Palace in complete peace. Louise started dating Matheus, which surprised and made everyone very happy. After all, Matheus was also hiding his feelings for her.
Years passed and the children grew up. Then Liaham told Moses that it was time to take the promised action, because Mentor and Mary got too close and walked around the palace together like two lovers. And they were not doing this in secret, for they did not know what the future held for them.
Moses and Liam tried to persuade Mary to look to her brother Thomás as her future suitor, but she, supported by her mother, refused and became unyielding and rebellious. She would not accept being betrothed to Thomás, even though they were only fifteen years old. She would not even talk to Thomás about it and ended up distancing herself from him.
The atmosphere in the palace became tense, without the peace of old, and Moses saw this as the beginning of what was to come.
