Chapter 26
The morning light streamed into the room, peeking through the blinds as it smiled at the occupants of the room, a visual reminder that they made it through another night and should get up. Sandra stretched out on the bed as she opened her eyes, her mouth tilting into an amused grin as her eyes fell on the silhouette of her best friend lying beside her and wished she was in her house rather than hers. She pursed her lips, thinking of what to do to make Veronica see logic past her emotions and go back to her husband’s house. She knew without being told that she missed him, as Veronica had left many pointers to cement that conviction without needing to tell her.
Sandra sighed as she looked at Veronica cuddled up on the bed and shook her head. “Good morning, babe.”
