Chapter 101
Aurora had just exited the elevator when she saw Mr. Owen entering the office of the CEO, presumably to meet with Red.
Aurora had no reason to enter, so she stood in the hallway, waiting. She had expected her father and Red to have a long discussion, but it ended quickly within just ten minutes. She followed behind her father as they both entered an elevator.
Mr. Owen seemed lost in his sorrow, not noticing Aurora standing beside him. She quietly glanced at him and saw that his hair had grayed considerably and his face had many wrinkles. Time had left its mark on him. Suddenly, a pang of pain struck Aurora, realizing that her father had aged and he needed his children to be there for him. She wondered if Mirian would treat him well and if Aurora, his daughter, could ever show her filial piety.
Mr. Owen let out a heavy sigh, his voice choked with emotion.
