Slowly, he released her, extending his hand to wipe away her tears. But Liliana turned her head slightly, avoiding his hand. She didn’t want him to wipe her tears away.
Stephen’s hand stiffened in mid-air, but he quickly withdrew it.
“Let me take you home,” he said gently as before. However, now, if she wanted to refuse, he would comply.
