Emma didn’t lift her head and said, “Lately, I’ve developed a liking for rice. I’ve finished eating, so I’ll go ahead.” She spoke awkwardly, smiled, and then left.

Anna looked at Emma’s retreating figure, feeling puzzled.

“Thank you, dear.” Anna took a bite of the food and then handed Henry a spoonful of rice.

Henry was still in a daze. Why did she hit him?

Anna said, “In the future, you’re not allowed to call me ‘sweetheart’ anymore, and don’t be so affectionate.”
