Her mother had fallen in love with Esther Grey. She wasn't kidding, at first, the two women were quite reserved and spoke quietly to each other, sometimes speaking through Maya but after a few glasses of root beer, all three of them had loosened up and they were partying like a bunch of high school girls.

They had booked a private room since Esther didn't feel comfortable being in the public eye, which she understood, and sang to their heart's content.
