Iris opened her bleary eyes to see herself in a dull white hospital room, all alone. After the mishap, she hadn’t expected to be alive. But miraculously, Stacey had shoved her out of the path of the killer car. She had faced a similar accident in front of Escapades when Nicholas Garrett had saved her.

After coming here, she had expected these mishaps to stop, but it seemed someone really wanted her dead. She had no other enemy than Lucille Hartley. But why would she be after her life when she got what she wanted  - a life with Maddox?

A sigh escaped her lips, and she closed her eyes again. She had lost Maddox forever. When she had left Escapades that fateful night, she had hoped to see Maddox one day. She had hoped he would call her. But neither Maddox nor Gavin called her. Apart from her siblings and Roselyn, no one else cared about her.

Then she met Stacey at her college. A year senior, Stacey moved into her building, and ever since, they had been inseparable.
