Book 5: Fleeing Her Captors
Iris stirred again, but her head reeled from the exhaustion. Ever since Lucille and her gang had kidnapped her, they had been on the move. The greasy food they had been offering her made her even more nauseated. She longed for the comfort of her bed. After spending the entire day tied up in a car, Iris had lost her consciousness for the second time.
“Water!” she murmured wearily, but there was no one around to hear her. She opened her eyes to look around the place she was in. There was a bottle of water nearby, and she had her fill.
Had they abandoned her? If only they would!
It was a comfortable bedroom with only the bare minimum: a double bed, a dresser, a wardrobe, and a desk. Beige and off-white furnishings, an open window with a washroom at the other end, completed the picture.
It was evening now, and she could feel the hunger pangs multiply with every passing second. Why couldn’t they release her?
