Chapter 12
"Damn, those idiots, so slow."
Matthew helped Gabriel's parents into their home, both with tears in their eyes. As they looked at Matthew, Jena burst into tears, and Radley turned his face away. Though no one spoke, their reunion filled the atmosphere of pain and joy.
"You must have suffered a lot these years."
Radley choked up, wanting to ask about his life but not knowing where to start.
"Don't worry. Everything is over now. I'm back to clear Gabriel's name and give you a better life."
Hearing about the plan to clear their son's name, Radley and his wife's eyes brightened, and their long-held pain vanished.
Matthew looked at the old couple in their rickety, dark house, illuminated by only an oil lamp. The damp and moldy air made Radley's cough even worse.
"I'm sorry for what I've put you both through, leaving you to live like this."
He shook his head
