Elias’s POV
She really does look like her. It’s unsettling—far more than I expected.
I’ve only known the new girl from the café for two days. Her name is Ana. To learn more, I called the café manager and asked for a thorough profile or, at the very least, a copy of her resume. All I could get, though, was her full name and address: Lara White. Technically, it wasn’t her complete name, since there were no middle names or other identifiers. Still, “Lara White” was the only lead I had.
I tried digging into her background through the city’s public records, but there was no one listed under Lara White who matched the face I had. It was as if she didn’t exist—until I took another look at a different photograph. The name attached to that photo was Maya Brooks.
“She looks just like you,” I muttered under my breath, staring
