Maya’s POV
“Well? Aren’t you going to say anything?” He raised the glass of liquor to his lips and took a slow, deliberate sip. His tone dripped with irritation.
I took a steadying breath, fighting to keep my voice calm. “Look, I’m sorry I jumped to conclusions. I should’ve waited before getting upset with you.”
He set the glass down on the coffee table with a sharp clink. “Maya, I’m not into this dramatic bullshit. Why hide things from me? I’ve done nothing but try to help you. I’ve opened up about things I’ve never even told anyone else. This isn’t about lies. It’s about the fact that you don’t trust me.” His intense gaze bored into me.
