Chapter 78. Injury
Ezekiel can't even sense his heart beating anymore. He wake up in a midday, with the curtains swept at the side, the heat welcomed at the steel-toned tiles. Ezekiel grunted, and he thinks it was the only sound he has ever made since opening his eyes. Someone came into view, and he thinks it must be the nurse.
She placed something on his forehead, touched the side of his neck, and walked away. She closed the door as Ezekiel muttered, "Rachel."
It was the only name that came up in his mind. Ezekiel was tired of handling the battlefield, hence, the injury that came upon it. He was a fool to let his mind believe he can do it alone. He can plan something good and go back and visit Rachel in her house, where he drop her off safely. Like he can go back to the old times as he once did.
But he can't do it. He's afraid he was not able to reply to any of her letters for now. Probably, he have to wait until he can stand up on his own at the side of the bed. Someone
