Chapter 174

I greet them and then I firmly tell Jake to get some real food instead of cereal. He is just like his father, they hardly eat in the morning, except when it is cereal or oats. I proceed to go back upstairs so I can get ready and we can all then leave.

While climbing the stairs to go back to the room, I meet James. He has a grin that causes me to unintentionally smile.

“Well, you look happy. What’s up? Did you find a pot full of bacon under your bed?” I joke and he laughs.

“I wish, but that’s not it,” He replies to me and I raise my eyebrows.

“Mhmm…” I respond and he shrugs.

“I have a date after we drop Jake off at school,” He informs me and I smile, this time revealing my teeth.

“That’s great, you have to tell me all about it after I have gotten ready. I have to shower and be back out in a few minutes or Jake will be late,” I let him know and he smiles warmly while nodding.
