On the way out, I greet a few girls I’d come to know during the last couple of days since dating Eduardo. It’s only been days? How amazing.
When I’m out of his place, I walk down the empty street, the emptiness of the night rising to an overwhelming degree. Tired of staring at the same miserable strip of the road ahead, I stare at the sky.
The moon is out, full, shining in all its glory, a ring standing like a barrier or a guardian around it. As I stare at it, it makes me want to cry.
The moon can see all I did, and it’s now beginning to judge me for being such an idiot. Unable to stand the gaze anymore, I throw my face back at the floor as the first drop of tears leaks out. Soon, I’m howling out tears as I walk down the road.
I’m at the corner of my street when I come to a realization. I told Mom I was going to study and wouldn’t be returning until the next morning. I bite down the urge to shout out in frustration and wake the entire street. Instea
