“…So you mean you weren’t actually abandoned but were kidnapped by your nanny who was supposed to look after you, when your parents came over to Country Y for an important function? And you had somehow ended up meeting your parents at the resort you stayed in and because you had looked so much alike to your mother, you guys had ended up doing a paternity test?” Nina felt overwhelmed by the sudden overload of information. She would have never dreamt that something so cliché, that should only exist in novels and movies, had happened to her friend!
“Yes, it’s hard to believe, right? I also felt incredulous when my parents told me,” Selena said in reply from the other end of the phone.
