Eva walked out to the lawn to look for Alexander, her heart crushed by Daniel Van Every’s offer. What did he think she was? How could he even think of offering her money? Was there no place for feelings, or sentiments in his heart? Was money everything in his eyes? Then how did he choose to marry Alexander’s mom if he didn’t fall in love with her?
