Catherine’s POV

“Carlo!” I barked. “Let us go!”

I had shifted back to human and tried to order the rogues to let me leave, but somehow Carlo had them under his control.

They still kept a fair distance but didn’t back down.

“Why should I?” Carlo asked, sneering. “You have nowhere to go. No one wants you, and Colt is dead. Grey and Sam would blame you for his death. Not to mention the pack and his parents.”

My heart sank. Would Sam and Grey blame me?

Would they believe me when I told him Carlo was responsible?

My heart twisted in pain inside my chest, and my gaze moved to where Colt lay, only to find him gone.

I flinched, yet I recovered quickly.

“I guess you understand your dilemma then?” Carlo asked, taking my shock and bewildered expression as a good thing.

I slowly nodded my head and moved my gaze from side to side, acting as if I were weighing my options and looking at the rogues around me.
