Kenneth’s residence.
In front of the breakfast table, Tom angrily glanced at the newspaper, the lavish breakfast laid before him untouched. Mrs. Kenneth sat elegantly beside him, sipping her soup with a dainty mouth. Occasionally, her gaze seemed to fall upon Bonita as if she were barely there.
Bonita lowered her head, wearing an unmistakable air of loneliness. Since Kaytly returned, Adam had allowed her to return to the Kenneth household. Despite her strong reluctance, she didn’t want to confront him head-on, so she used the excuse of being with her parents to return.
She couldn’t taste the flavors of this breakfast, her entire focus fixed on the distant doorway, hoping to catch a glimpse of Adam returning.
Mrs. Kenneth observed Bonita’s absentmindedness with disdainful amusement, her lips curling into a scornful smile.
A doorbell rang from the entrance, and Bonita quickly lifted her head, her eyes filled with hopeful anticipation as she stared fixedly
