Star’s POV

“That’s it. You are getting possessive of a human. Don’t you think it will raise suspicions?” the male, who spoke up earlier, challenged.

This time, it tempted me to glance up to look at him, but when I recalled my promise to Master, I kept my face down and my hands balled into a fist.

“Why won’t I be possessive of my pet?” Master asked in an emotionless voice. “Tell me, if you have a dog as a pet, won’t you be possessive of the dog?”

I silently gasped at my master’s words.

Out of all the things he should have referenced, why will he make use of a dog? Is that how vampires view their pets? Do they think we are the same as dogs?

“But I don’t think I will be as protective of the dog as you are with her,” the female said once more.

“Why are you concerned about her?”

“Let me have a taste of her, my lord. Since she’s your pet, you won’t mind it if I only have a taste, will you?” the female asked once more.
