Lennox’s POV

I step into the palace, looking for Lotus. I need to speak with her again. I need to tell her how important she is. So much has been left unsaid between us, that I need her to know just how much I love her tonight.

When I reach the outside of her door, I pause for a moment, my hand lifted in the air ready to knock. The door swings open and she stands before me with snow still tangled in her hair.

“Lennox,” she whispers. “Are you okay?”

I step inside her room, closing the door behind me. “What you are doing for the rebels is more important than you know. I just needed you to hear that.”

“Thank you for coming with me,” she says softly. “They needed to see that someone from the Pack still cares.”

“They needed to see you,” I correct. My voice sounds rough, heavier than I mean it to. “You give them hope. I don’t think they’ve had that in a long time. That isn’t something I can give them.”
