Chapter 74. Don’t Say It
Levi’s POV
The world splits in half. Fire and dust swallow everything: the table, the banners, the voices shouting around me. The blast lifts me off my feet and throws me into a column. Stone cracks against my ribs, and the air leaves my body in a single strangled sound.
It is too quiet. Not the kind that means peace. It is the calm before the storm.
My ears ring so hard I can’t tell which direction is up. The floor tilts beneath me. Smoke rolls in thick waves, stinking of silver and blood. Somewhere in the haze, people are screaming.
“Lotus!” I shout, but it comes out hoarse, lost in the noise.
I drag myself up, vision flickering in and out. My sword is gone. My claws push through instead, tips glowing faintly in the smoke. The Lycan inside me is furious, a blur of rage and instinct clawing at my control.
Find her. It is the only thought that makes sense.
The blast came from the center of the Summit Hall, where the council table once
