Chapter 17. Enemies Were Once Our Friends

Sasha’s POV

Enemies are always once our friends. Or at least close to it.

Now my eyes are open that Alain is not fully to be trusted—even Ansel. My heart might still sigh at my first love’s presence but he’s not telling me something I should know.

I don’t consider Alain as an enemy. Perhaps a half ally, yes. But the enemy I’m referring to is the Omega assigned to be my personal servant.

I turned towards her, “Klea.” But she didn’t hear me, her eyes focused on the Shadow Rose Alpha. It’s as if her ears don't function when I’m around or when I’m speaking.

“You should consider Alpha Ansel.” I whirled to see Sorrel waving to the departing pack. I don’t know if I should tell her that my heart did not leave with Alain or has run to Ansel. It remained with me.
