Chapter 105. The Ties That Hold
I watched Charlotte as we moved towards what used to be our room, her legs faltering the closer we got to the room we used to share, as if she were fighting with herself.
"What's up, buttercup?" Knox requested. I licked my lips, wondering if he had sensed her anxiety, too.
"This is wrong." She whispered, and I felt my heart sink. Why was it wrong? If anything, it was more right than things had been in months.
"How so, princess?" I asked, not wanting to push or argue with her; that would not help. She clearly had something on her mind, and it was better that we addressed it before we opened that door and started the next part of our lives.
"Connie." she responded, turning to face Knox and me.
"Ah yeah, I will tell her to fuck off out of YOUR room." Knox announced, a smile beaming across his face as he wasted no time in going to kick the bitch out. Charlotte's face flickered with emotion she was obviously holding back.
