Chapter 180. Write It Down

[Flashback continues]

I wasn’t sure if Lee had deliberately given Jackson and me time to talk alone, but right after I finished speaking with Lee and telling her that I would do everything I could to help her, she suddenly stood up from where she was sitting beside me and started walking around.

I then saw him whisper something to Jackson, and after that, Jackson stared at me for a few seconds before walking over to me and sitting down on the large rock… right next to me. We were barely an inch apart… and… and my heart was pounding because of it.

If Lee had planned this… well, that’s okay. It was good that Jackson and I finally had a chance to talk so that we could say what we wanted to each other. And besides, I wanted closure. I wanted to know the real reason for his sudden departure… why he didn’t even say goodbye to me before he left several years ago.

“I…” He sighed before continuing. “I’m sorry, I… I did nothing earlier. I’m sorry… I
