When I got back to my condo, I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. As soon as I sank into the couch, I pulled it out to check who had messaged me or what notification I’d received.

My brows furrowed in confusion when I saw that it was Zac who had sent a message. It was just a “like” reaction. I opened it, and I assumed he saw that I had already read it because, just a few seconds later, he unsent the reaction.

I noticed the typing bubble appear, and I stared at it, waiting. But after a few seconds, it vanished, leaving me more confused than before. Whatever he had been about to say, he had decided against it.

I sat there, staring at my phone, my thoughts racing.

What could he have wanted to say? And why didn’t he go through with it? Was he just going to explain that the “like” reaction was an accident? Or maybe it was a wrong send?
