Chapter 10. Party Misconception

It was grand. More than ever, Roxanne had never seen an engagement party so lavish and neither had she expected the Laurent family to put such wealth into Lance’s engagement ceremony.

There were many guest, some that even Roxanne knew and was pleased to see and others that she wasn’t, like Amber. Although Roxanne understood that Amber’s father, Mr Snow, had been a diligent employee of Laurent cop back in his young days, she didn’t see the need for inviting them.

Stepping into the full venue with Christopher beside her, Roxanne had expected Amber to cling at Christopher’s arm the first chance she got, but to her surprise, Christopher avoided Amber’s gaze.

Roxanne glanced between the two for a few seconds confused, until she finally realized what was happening. It was the obvious, they were having a lover’s Spat.
