Chapter 16. The Mistress’s Awful Plans

“Sir! We have a problem, all the investors are suddenly asking to pull out their funds. They no longer want to work with us!”

Christopher couldn’t believe his ears. The words of his colleague sounded much like child's play.

“What?” He manages to mutter as his gaze found its way to where Roxanne stood, staring at him apathetically almost as if she knew what was happening.

No, it wasn’t ‘almost as if she knew’, she did know what was happening. In fact, she was the one behind why it was happening.

The thought dawned on Christopher and soon he was scrambling back to where she was, taking her hand in his and begging.

“Roxy, babe aren’t you taking things a tad bit extreme? I know you are angry, but please reconsider.” He was pleased, knowing how much the investors that Roxanne brought had helped his company.
