Chapter 37. Media Crisis

Nathan trudged home, his footsteps heavy with disappointment and frustration. His heart felt like it had been shattered into a million pieces, and there was an emptiness inside him that he couldn't ignore.

As he entered his dimly lit apartment, he couldn't help but replay the scene with Ella over and over in his mind. Her accusations had stung, but deep down, he knew she had every right to be angry. He had let her down, and he was the one responsible for the pain in her eyes.

Nathan walked to the small bar in his living room and poured himself a stiff drink. He needed something to numb the pain, even if just for a little while. The alcohol burned as it went down his throat, but he welcomed the sensation. It distracted him from the turmoil inside.

He sank into his worn-out armchair, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts. His pursuit of his long-lost sister was in disarray, thanks to the heated argument with Huxley. It was ironic that he had hoped to find answer
