Chapter 278. The Crash

Maddie was now back at the villa, her heart was heavy and her throat had a knot in it. She was hurt, and she felt like she was continuously being stabbed in the chest but she knew that what had happened with her and Jacob was for the best. 

She was proud of him for putting himself first, for choosing to focus on himself instead for letting her drag him down with indecisiveness.

She was heading to her room and saw Vanessa. The girl had a worried look on her face and Maddie could not help but approach her and ask, “Is everything alright?”

Vanessa swallowed before replying, “I’m trying to get to Nate but I can’t seem to reach him. I’m worried that something happened, I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.”

“I’m sure he’s alright, he can protect himself,” Maddie tried her best to assure the girl. “He said he was going to see his father, right?”
