Chapter 2. The Wedding

Occasionally, Alana massaged her very sore calves. The guests seemed unending since two hours ago. "Who exactly did the sorceress invite?" grumbled Leo, causing Alana to turn and narrow her eyes.

Sitting, Leo felt irritated, especially since he had been standing with his wide smile for the guests. Alana even felt like her feet couldn't touch the ground anymore.

"Pedro, take me to the room," said Leo, making Alana turn quickly.

"Where to?" asked Alana, causing Pedro's movement to stop as he was about to spin Leo's wheelchair.

"I'll escort the master to the room," Pedro replied with a thin smile.

Matching superiors and secretaries, thought Alana, both equally expressionless.

"What about me?" asked Alana, finally making Leo look in her direction.

"Your first task is to welcome the guests. After all, I don't know them; only 1% of all the guests I know. The rest are that sorceress's gang, so you have to take responsibility," Leo's answer made Alana widen her eyes.

"Me, how can I? Especially since I only know 0.01% of all of them. So, this is not my responsibility."

"Do you want to argue with your husband's first task, my wife?" Leo replied with an evil smile, making Alana reluctantly choose to stay silent and comply. "Pedro, let's go, I can't take it anymore," Leo continued, finally leaving Alana alone to welcome the guests at their wedding.

Alana hurriedly walked towards the elevator that would take her to the room designated for her and Leo. With quick steps, lifting her heavy dress, Alana finally entered the elevator and looked at her reflection in the elevator mirror before letting out a rough breath.

"Huff, how can he leave me alone to handle those people? Arghhhhh, my body!" Alana exclaimed at the end of the sentence while hitting her aching back.

"You have to conquer his heart," those words suddenly crossed Alana's mind, Tante Rose's words that always encouraged her. A moment later, Alana smiled bitterly.

"Haha, what exactly needs to be conquered? Is Aunt Rose sure he has a heart? I doubt it," Alana muttered, but it couldn't be denied, Aunt Rose's idea was indeed correct. Conquering that wild lion required attacking his heart.

The elevator door opened. Before Alana actually stepped out, she took a deep breath and steadied her heart. "Okay, Alana, now it's time to be a good wife and conquer that wild lion," Alana muttered, encouraging herself.

Meanwhile, in a different place, namely the room where he was, Leo was busy dealing with a stack of files in front of him. Although it was his wedding day, Leo didn't care at all; for him, his work was the number one priority.

After a few moments, Leo lifted his head as the sound of the nearby door opening caught his attention. Leo raised an eyebrow, casually watching a woman walk into the direction of the bed. It was unclear what she was doing as she bent down for a moment. However, the next moment, Leo's eyes widened as Alana nonchalantly removed her wedding dress in front of him.

"What are you doing?" Leo asked angrily, making Alana quickly turn around, surprised.

"Aaaaaa, what are you doing there?" Alana asked, crossing her arms over her chest, even though she knew it was entirely useless.

"I should be asking that, why are you entering this room?"

"Of course, with this!" Alana replied, showing her cardlock.

"Get out!" Leo commanded with a firm tone.

"No," Alana quickly replied, slightly surprising Leo. Apparently, this girl dared to defy his orders. "Moreover, this is the bridal suite, so it's also my room," Alana said, trying to normalize her heartbeat, and she turned her gaze back to her suitcase to choose sleepwear.

"What are these clothes?" Alana thought when she saw that her suitcase only contained thin sleepwear and Leong Leong, whose function Alana didn't know. Of course, Aunt Rose prepared it. Reluctantly, Alana took one of the sleepwear dresses and put it on right in front of Leo.

Meanwhile, Leo could only remain silent, watching Alana's movements in front of his eyes. Leo's face turned red as he tried to contain his anger and the pounding of his heart. Leo wasn't lying; Alana's body might not be as sexy as some of his ex-girlfriends, but just imagining it, in a certain part, Alana's body would fit perfectly in his hands.

Damn.

Leo cursed as his dirty thoughts started invading his mind. He should have turned his gaze to the stacked files in front of him, not watching Alana changing clothes. Was she intentionally trying to tease me, thought Leo. Indeed, maybe this was her tactic to tease him. Leo didn't expect Alana's outward appearance to be so deceiving; it turns out she had the audacity like the other vixens, Leo thought.

And what's even more nonsensical is himself. Even Leo continued to stare at Alana, who had finished changing, and now she walked towards the table where Leo was inspecting the pile of papers.

"On our wedding day, your secretary still gives you this much work?" Alana asked, shaking her head.

"That's none of your business," Leo replied, then picked up one of the files and began reading it.

"Are you hungry or do you want to change clothes?" Alana offered with her sweet smile, making Leo raise an eyebrow.

"Are you playing the role of a good wife now?"

"Of course, it's my duty, isn't it?" Alana replied, winking at Leo, making Leo squint his eyes. It turns out the girl in front of him is wilder than he thought.

"So, what do you need, my husband?" Alana asked, still offering her help.

"Nothing, I'll call Pedro."

"No, Pedro, the secretary, has gone home, so tonight I'll be the one serving you," Alana's answer made Leo grumble and quickly reach for his phone to contact someone, and Alana was sure he would call his personal secretary.

However, from his annoyed expression, Alana could guess that Aunt Rose had successfully made the couple part ways for a while. Leo roughly tossed his phone onto the table and reached for the documents he was reading.

"So, what do you want now? Eat, change clothes, or go to the bathroom?" Alana offered again, making Leo annoyed and glare at her.

"What I want is for you to get out of my way and let me concentrate on work."

"Oh, come on, it's our wedding night, isn't it."

"Do you expect me to touch you?" Leo asked with a raised eyebrow.

No, of course not.

"Yes," Alana answered, making Leo slightly startled. "I mean, not like that, I just want us to rest now. I know you must be tired," Alana whined.

"Get out before I get really angry," grumbled Leo, finally making Alana start to feel afraid again.

"Okay, okay, I won't force you, but if you need anything, call me," Alana replied, but Leo didn't care and started focusing on the documents in his hands.

However, the next moment, Leo's heart seemed to truly stop as he felt a soft hand touch the side of his face. Leo could see Alana up close. Alana casually pressed her lips against his, then nibbled on Leo's lower lip. After that, she walked to the bed and immediately lay down, leaving Leo still standing there, stunned with a heart that seemed to leap out.
