Chapter 46. Checking CCTV

Leo handed over the earring the detective had found to Alana, causing her to accept it with trembling hands. Even Alana didn't dare to just respond to Leo's difficult-to-interpret gaze when he looked at her.

They were now in their room, alone together. After the detective presented all the evidence, Leo only thanked him and instructed everyone in the living room to leave. They then brought Alana to speak privately.

"Do you want to explain something?" Leo asked in his cold tone, prompting Alana to finally muster the courage to look at her husband's face.

"What kind of explanation do you want to hear from me?" Alana asked, trying to normalize her voice to avoid sounding shaky to Leo.

"Why was there an earring inside my car engine?" Leo asked, making Alana pause for a moment.

"I don't know. I did lose my earring, and you know that, but I didn't lose it in your car," Alana replied with conviction.

"So, you think someone stole your earring and delibera
