Chapter 99. I Don’t Want to Hurt You Anymore

Leo continued to bow his head, occasionally massaging the bridge of his nose, waiting for the doctor who was handling his wife to come out of the room in front of him.

"How is she?" Pedro asked, prompting Leo to finally straighten up. Leo then shook his head.

"The surgery isn't over yet," Leo replied with a worried expression, causing Pedro to pat his friend's shoulder, as if offering support. "What about that scoundrel? Have you taken care of him?" Leo finally asked, prompting Pedro to nod.

"The police are interrogating him, but I made sure he'll really be behind bars. Now you don't need to worry about anything else, just focus on Alana," Pedro replied, making Leo look back at the still closed door in front of him, then rubbing his rough face. Somehow, once again, Alana had saved his life for the umpteenth time, making Leo feel utterly useless as a husband.
