Chapter 76. Vengeance
Somewhere across Florence…
A crystal tumbler of whiskey shatters against the wall. Two men are kneeling and begging for their lives.
“What did you just say?” roars Don Luciano Bianchi, his voice shaking the windows of his office.
The two men flinch, trembling and shivering at once. One of them is sweating profusely.
“Don Bianchi… It wasn’t our fault. We tried to protect him….”
“You tried?” Luciano’s voice thunders, and he slams his hands on the desk. “You tried? My son, my only son, is lying in a pool of his own blood, and you come crawling here to tell me you tried?”
One of the men starts to speak again, but Luciano cuts him off with a deadly calm.
“Who killed him? Who dared to kill my only child??”
His eyes speak of vengeance, fury, and unshed tears. He’s trying so hard not to let the tears spill.
